Here are some images taken over a week in my home. For the past week my world seems to be full of one colour ~ orange.  Named after the fruit, not the other way around, I see it wherever I turn.  It makes me happy although I don’t think I’ll ever have the courage to wear it…  And it remains the one word in the english language which perplexes me as it has no natural rhyming partner….

I found this description of orange  on a fascinating website which you can visit here.

The colour orange represents enthusiasm and adventure. Orange is also associated with optimism, rejuvenation and spontaneity. Orange is a very sociable colour. It stimulates the mind, and renews interest in life, creativity and wanting to be around people. It is a great motivator, boosts self esteem and allows you to accept and be open to exciting change. Creativity and optimism are key words for this choice of colour. In heraldry, orange is symbolic of strength and endurance and thirst for action.”

Why not encourage your child to go hunting for their favourite colour?  Until next time….

I like your son’s smelly socks best! The goldfish is pretty special and I can’t not mention the mango.
A fresh inspired idea, like the smell of orange zest.
Those Penguin books are hard to beat when it comes to orange.
One of the most orange things are marigold flowers which Indians wear as garlands http://www.tumblr.com/tagged/marigolds
I dare you to wear it!

I think I’d like the recipe for that Roasted Garlic and Tomato soup! That’s what I think! Orange is so close to My Favourite colour…..RED! ;)

What a lovely post. Beautiful pictures, and I too am quite fond of orange. We have the exact same bucket, and some of the same Folio Society books!

What do you think?
